FemCity Sarasota Hosts Semiannual Public Fundraising Event to Support Women Entrepreneurs and Local Nonprofit HOPE

Sarasota, FL — Friday, November 7th, 2025 — FemCity Sarasota, a division of the national FemCity organization, hosted its semiannual public event dedicated to fundraising and empowering women entrepreneurs. The event was led by Dr. Medge Jaspan, President of FemCity Sarasota and owner of the Holistic Healing and Wellness Center of Sarasota.

FemCity is a women’s networking organization that provides support, resources, and community for women entrepreneurs and professionals.

“One kindness at a time. Our mission is to empower each other,” said Jaspan during the event.

Each month, FemCity Sarasota members gather to network, participate in educational workshops, and collaborate on ways to support and uplift other women in business. Membership is open to any woman interested in pursuing her passion, advancing her career, or growing her business.

The semiannual public fundraising event, themed each time, brings together business owners, community leaders, and supporters. This year’s theme was The Great Gatsby. Guests arrived in 1920s Art Deco fashion and enjoyed an evening of jazz, dancing, and community connection.

In addition to fundraising, the event celebrates women-owned businesses and local creatives. The program featured a fashion show highlighting designs from Oh La La Moda, Patti Mae Bosco (My Life Collection), and clothing from Medge Jaspan (Medge Wearable Art). FemCity members volunteered as models, demonstrating the group’s commitment to collaboration and empowerment.

All proceeds from this event benefit HOPE Family Services, a confidential nonprofit founded in 1979 that supports survivors of domestic violence. HOPE Family Services provides shelter, counseling, advocacy, and resources to help individuals and families rebuild their lives (HOPE Family Services).

“FemCity Sarasota is dedicated to creating spaces where women can connect, grow, and give back,” said Jaspan. “Supporting local nonprofits is one of the most meaningful parts of our mission.”

FemCity Sarasota continues to expand its community presence through networking events, partnerships, and its signature fundraising initiatives.
